I have worked professionally as a K-12 cross-curricular tutor, middle school humanities teacher, and high school coach since 2016. I have also worked professionally to help adults with their writing: editing authors' books for publication and helping grad school applicants take their personal statements from prompt to submission.
I have a Masters in Education and previously double majored at UCSD, where I completed ERC's intense writing series ("Making of the Modern World") with A's.
“When I was applying to MBA programs, I had a hard time crafting a story in my personal statements that would capture the attention of admissions. I wrote so many iterations and was just stuck. Karinne helped me get unstuck and tell a compelling story. Her fresh set of eyes and expertise made all the difference in writing a final essay that I was proud of. Definitely recommend!”

My teaching practice centers around hands-on learning through meaningful projects that align with state standards. My students have published their work on Amazon, put on fashion shows, created podcasts, and written to the heads of major museums and entertainment companies. I am a justice-driven educator; my classroom and curriculum are intentionally inclusive for diverse learners and highlight a wide breadth of voices and experiences. I care deeply about student voice and seek to empower the learners in my classroom.
I have been developing writing workshop resources since 2012, and between 2021 and 2025 developed a complete curriculum for a 7th grade humanities course.
You can see more about my teaching experience on my teaching website, and access resources I created at my MissAdventures store on teacherspayteachers.com.
