Some people spend their whole lives wanting to be a teacher. I spent mine wanting to write books, and wanting to work with kids. 

Having worked in Middle School classrooms and in extracurricular spaces for over a decade, I know the importance of supporting teens and the complexity of academics that reaches beyond classwork and into skills like organization, note taking, and time management. I have seen students transform from reluctant to confident writers. Middle School is tough, and struggling teens often just need someone who believes in their brilliance and holds them accountable to their best work. 

My work as a credentialed teacher has shaped how I approach my one-on-one tutoring sessions with students: I meet kids where they are at and conider the whole child. Sometimes, the things getting in the way of an A are as simple as confidence or organization skills. I won't just help your student with their homework; I will help them hone the skills they need to be independently successful.
