I have been a story teller my entire life. I have outlined novels and written short stories, journal articles, and (far less exciting) user manuals for software programs.
I have been freelance editing for self publishing authors since 2018. I was an editor on the fifth annual NaNo Los Angeles Anthology, "Shadowed Doorways," as well as a contributing writer.

I am a justice-driven and equity-centered educator and writer. I have spent the last 10 years working in various education roles (from tutoring to mentoring, teaching to curriculum design). One might say that teaching career started as early as high school, when I started an organization, the Krinkled Page, that aimed to instill a love for writing in kids. We ran creative writing workshops in the summers and, when I was in college, in primary schools. Later I served with City Year Sacramento, an AmeriCorps program, where I spent two years working in 7th and 8th grade math classrooms at Rosa Parks K-8. The Sacramento site awarded me the Bridge Builder Award for my successful initiatives to get students across grade levels writing and, as one of the top 3 candidates in the nation, attended City Year's annual gala and awards ceremony in DC.
Most recently, I taught 7th grade history and English at Elevate Charter School in San Diego. As part of the team that opened 7th grade, I developed a complete reading, writing, and social studies curriculum over my four years there. My curriculum was integrated, bringing ancient history and contemporary issues alongside each other while assigning meaningful reading and writing projects that engaged with real-world issues and/or audiences.
My students received high reading and writing scores on state exams every year, growing average....
Each year, my students publish an anthology of their work on Amazon! Here are some of those projects.
While at University, I studied Archaeology and Classical Studies. Later I went on to get my teaching credential and Masters in Education. I dream of merging my passions to work in Museum Education and Curation, making exhibits more interesting and accessible for visitors.
